We’ve also opened the After-party up to supporters – so runners can invite up to three friends to cheer them on as they run and then join the party afterwards!
There’ll be a station to freshen up, safe bag drop area and food and drinks on sale to ensure you’ve got all the energy you need to keep going from the run, through to the party, which will close at 10pm.
He is a multiple award-winning DJ, composer, songwriter and now we can add singer to the list of qualities he has to offer the music space. To celebrate 10 years as a producer, the Soweto born musician released a ten-track album called Evolution X which has a different sound from all his previous work and has him singing for the first time in 60% of the project. His unique style of mixing has also made him one of the most sort after deejays in South Africa, influencing a wave of young deejays. He plays a fresh sound of music on a minimum of three CDJs with smooth vocal to create a blend of pure magical music. He has performed this way on radio and in clubs in and around Africa to great reception earning him the nickname “King Kent”.
An immense, multi-faceted talented flag bearer for house music in South Africa, Themba Nkosi better known as Euphonik - eats and breathes music. In turn, the DJ, music producer, radio presenter and entrepreneur has forged a unique sound - fusing house, electro and dance elements - that has garnered him a legion of fans the world over, the world truly is becoming his playground. He has been named among the Mail & Guardian’s top 100 Young South Africans and won numerous awards for his 8 albums released to date. Euphonik has represented South Africa in multiple dance floors across the world including Dubai, Miami, London, Toronto, New York, Brazil, Germany, Ireland, and many more. He’s also hosted a successful annual workshop for aspiring Dj’s - DJ101.
Chrizz Beatz is a regular on 947 as listeners tune in for his Friday mix on Anele’s Breakfast Club as well as his flaming mixes on #947BlocParty every Friday night. He’s a resident Hip Hop DJ for Matric Rage and Chrizz Beatz has played at Ultra 2017, Wonderland, Octopia Festival, Spring Fiesta just to name a few. Gavin “Vin” Deysel
Vin’s first love has always been playing music and this led him into DJing with his older brother when he was 12 years old. He then moved on to filling his teenage years by playing his own gigs in clubs. He’s opened for some international artists such as Mariah Carey and is a regular at Gauteng Clubs. Vin’s DJ’d for corporate gigs as far afield as Dubai, Argentina, London, Amsterdam, and Mauritius. He’s also worked with various South African artists, remixing tracks for Locnville, Flash Republic and Zebra & Giraffe, to name just a few. He also mixed the Ministry of Sound The Annual 2011, Ministry of Sound Beach, Ministry of Sound Summer kicks and Ministry of Sound 2010 albums. His first big break came when his mix got airplay with Alex Jay’s “Six in the Mix” and for a time compiled and hosted the 94 hits in a row music show on weekends on 947. A spin-off from this show, Vin’s first album, also named 94 hits in a Row was launched towards the end of 2009. It went gold in just a few weeks. Alex Caige loves entertaining an audience, regardless of the platform. He loves playing to a crowd, not for himself. “I feed off the energy from the crowd throwing their hands in the air and partying like they just don't care!” part from hosting the early morning breakfast show on 947 and being the traffic presenter on the 947 Breakfast Club, Alex is also a club DJ. He DJ’s in clubs in Joburg and Pretoria some of which include VIP, Nicci Beach and The Sands. He’s also DJ’d across the country at Jose Cuervo Music Festival, Octopia, H20, Ministry of Sound and Joburg Day. Alex plays commercial/progressive house music and electro.
Ask Ayanda MVP for 3 words to describe her personality, and she’d say ‘happy, eccentric and active’. Waffles and ice-cream with her bestie, a calorie-busting workout at the gym, and a hot hip-hop set are all the radio-loving deck-spinning MVP needs “molifeng”. She learnt how to DJ while she was studying at Tuks and started working at Tuks FM and is now a regular at many of Gauteng’s hottest clubs and has performed at some of South Africa͛s biggest music events and festivals including the successful Pop Bottles franchise. Zweli and Mantsoe Pout host the The Night Show on 947 from 19h00 to 22h00. Zweli is young, energetic and connected to Joburg, when he’s not on air, he’s also a club DJ. Zweli matriculated from Alberton High School in 2009 and holds a BA degree from Wits University, where he majored in Media Studies and Political Studies. It was at Wits that he got into radio, and learnt much about the medium while working at the campus station. From here, he joined the 947 Crew, and took to the streets to share what was happening around the city with 947’s listeners and followers. In this capacity, Zweli became a skilled multimedia content producer. Zweli is a hardworker who brings his A-game to everything, from his radio show, to the clubs he DJs in and his personal obsessions – Liverpool FC and Serena Williams. Little known fact? Zweli used to be a Gauteng East tennis player and represented SA in Mauritius for the All African Schools Badminton Championships. Macgyver Mukwevho, widely known as MacG, is a South African radio presenter, club DJ and house music producer. In 2011, MacG moved to Gauteng based radio station 947 and currently hosts the station’s late-night show from 22h00 to 01h00 weeknights as well as Bloc Party between 22:00 and 01:00 on Friday and Saturday. MacG grew up in front of the camera as he was a presenter on youth programme, Craze on e-TV from 2000 to 2005. He left television to pursue his radio career full time and in 2006, MacG started presenting on YFM, where he hosted a variety of shows from the graveyard slot on weekends to the YFM Urban Top 40 every Sunday. His popularity rose significantly when he started hosting the early morning show during weekdays and, later, the lunchtime show between 12:00–15:00. MacG is known for heating up dance floors with house and dance music at the biggest events around South Africa. His successes landed him the opportunity to tour Africa with MTV Base’s Club MTV Base, performing in Angola and Mozambique. He has also played at the after party of the first ever MTV African Music Awards in Nigeria. MacG has toured South Africa extensively and has shared the DJ booth with a variety of international and local DJ’s, including DJ Rocco, Manoo, DJ Kofi (UK), Vinny Da Vinci, Frank Roger, and Louie Vega amongst many others.
